Daikoji Temple

Daikoji Temple is the 67th temple in the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage.
Also known as Komatsuoji Temple to locals, this temple has an impressive front gate and the largest Deva King statue of the Shikoku pilgrimage, a wooden mosaic sculpture stading 3.14 meters tall. The grounds also contain large camphor and nutmeg trees said to be planted to Kobo Daishi (Kukai) himself. This temple is particlularly steeped in the history of local Buddhism.
