Namiuchi Hachimajinja Shrine
According to legend, the shine was founded on August 14th, 604 by Takamura Shinnou, a member of the imperial family. The enshrined statue is said to have been carved by Emperor Bidatsu, the 30th emperor of Japan. For hundreds of years, it has been considered part of the “major 3” shrines in the area, which also include Kotohiki Hachimangu Temple and Kumaoka Hachimangu Temple, partially thanks to the Ikoma family’s donation of 40 koku of land.
