Ōi Onsen

The only Sento-style public bath in Mitoyo! A local staple

In the backstreets of Nio, just a short distance from Chichibugahama Beach, is Mitoyo's only Sento-style public bath. Wood from a local sawmill is used to heat the baths, which include jets, an electric bath, and a sauna to ensure guests will leave warmed from the inside out. The locker room is charmingly retro and fitted with, among other things, cold drinks, a manual massager (men's side), and a salon dryer chair (women's side). The 26th of each month is Bath Day- children enter for free! And don't miss their bi-monthly event, where you can bathe in fragrant water alongside sudachi and yuzu fruits.

  • The water temperature is controlled via firewood
  • Finish with the post-public bath classic: milk!
